The professional pick up at the airport, the well well appointed lovely room, the pool, the beautiful gardens and last but not least ,the service and attention to detail by all the staff. Gede, Mede and the Pondok team go out of their way to ensure guests have a fantastic time. As soon as we walked through the entry gate it felt as if we had returned home. This little boutique hotel is centrally located within an easy 15 min walk to Sanur and the beaches. The rooms are very large and well appointed with all the comforts. The Pondok staff are very knowledgeable and will assist the Bali tourist in regard to what to do and where to do it while staying in Bali. A visit to Bali Zoo is a must. Nothing is too much for the team collecting you from the airport, serving fab food and sourcing a fantastic masseur. The grounds are a picture and rooms well-kept with a/c. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. The swimming pool is definitely the place to be! VERY PEACEFUL and dark in the rooms thru the night making it EXTREMELY easy to sleep... Read our transparency report to learn contributions37 helpful votesI joined my mother at this B&B 3 days into her 10 day stay. There are only 5 rooms and most of the time the place was full. We were in an upstairs room which catches more of the room was spacious, spotlessly clean and well thought out although for easier access it could be improved with a shower rather than a bath with overhead shower. The staff were wonderful. Breakfast was the same every day.. fruit juice, choice of eggs any style or pancake, toast, tea/coffee and fruit. All very nice. We opted to eat on our balcony but they have a large round table where you can sit with fellow guests. This is also where you can have lunch or dinner. The nearest options for eating out are on the other side of the bypass. There was free transport to anywhere in Sanur and pick up if you gave them a time. There is only one car available during the day but 2 in the evening. On about 4 occasions we had to get a taxi as no car was available. The taxi charges for this were more than we could negotiate for the return trip or with Blue Bird metered taxis. The place is about 700m from the bypass 4 lanes and about the same again to the beach and beachwalk. If we go back to Bali we would look at staying here again. Staff where wonderful. Rooms where clean and spacious. Breakfast was a la carte. No hesitation on recommending this to anyone. pool was sparkling and the free airport transfers where a bonus plus free taxi service to anywhere in Sanur. Rooms where serviced daily and the fridge was icy cold. I will be going back. Also had the pleasure of meeting Barbera the owner who I plan to keep in touch with. I take my hat off to all the staff who made our stay perfect. A huge big thank you to you all. Read our transparency report to learn Australia12 contributions21 helpful votesRight from our exit at the Airport terminal we were greeted with in infectious welcoming smile from our host Gede, who was waiting to drive us to Pondok Ayu pointing out many places of interest along the way. On arrival the staff were all waiting to cater to our every need and this service continued for our entire stay. The pool and extremely well maintained gardens were immaculate with the only thing out of place being the frangiapanni flowers that littered the lawn. Our room was well stocked with icy cold bintang and soft drinks. After we had settled in and had a swim and a drink in our lush surroundings we ventured down to the beach again driven by Gede as part of our inclusions in the accomodation. I cant speak highly enough of how well we were looked after by the staff as nothing was too much trouble and the Bali coffee and fully cooked breakfast every morning with freshly prepared fruit was magnificent. Although the property is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the beach it is in a very peaceful area there were plenty of local warung style restaurants and a convenience store only a stones throw away. The Cavern Bar or beatles bar as its known is less than a 2 minute walk away also . Food is available also at Pondok Ayu and the friendly staff were happy to knock up a snack for my son in between meals. The Girls both had a very enjoyable luxury massage during our stay which they both said was amazing. Lovely breakfast. Location okay, need to cross road to get to the coast 5-8 minute walk. We didn’t get the free shuttle. Set in its own courtyard with lovely pool and dining room, the rooms are spacious and super clean. Nothing is too much trouble for the small team of staff. They arranged tours and transport getting good prices for us. Food is really good. Breakfast was always way too much but when it is so good how can you say no? Other tasty meals were available through to the evening. Location looked like it may be a bit away from the beach but it wasn’t a problem. They provide a shuttle service to and from anywhere in Sanur through till late evening. But it’s not far to walk anyway - about 10 minutes that’s all will get you on to the main shopping street. We’ve been trying for some time to go here as they are always popular. So glad we finally made it. We were not disappointed! Gede picked us up at the airport and he, Made and the rest of the staff looked after us brilliantly. The rooms surround the pool and are bright and clean. The breakfast choices are numerous and well cooked, and hot and cold snacks are available all day. The mini bar prices are very competitive. The hotel is situated in a residential area and about 20 minute walk to the beach. The only challenge is crossing a busy dual carriageway, but it's much easier after the first time! All in all, we loved Pondok Ayu and would recommend.
